All There is to Know About Nurse V’s Botox and Filler Services
Dermal Fillers: there are several different fillers to choose from but the specific ones I am carrying are:
Radiesse, Versa, and Restylane which are some of the more popular dermal fillers. As we age, we lose the volume, collagen, and elastin in our face. The tissues under the skin also start thinning. Dermal fillers can help restore lost volume and even stimulate collagen production by being injected beneath the surface of the skin. They can help correct facial wrinkles and folds in your mid and lower face and fine lines. Filler can also be injected in the lips to plump and replace volume loss. The dermal fillers are comprised of either calcium hydroxylapatite, which is a mineral-like compound found in bones and stimulates collagen production, or hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body and hydrates and adds volume to the skin (specific to Radiesse cheek filler). Depending on which filler you use, results can last 6-18 months
What can you expect?!
When you book your appointment, you will receive pre-procedural instructions, my advice, please follow it.
Fillers are intimidating as people fear the botched situation. I use precise placement and techniques to help avoid this issue all together. I will use a numbing agent on your lips or face before we start injecting to help improve your overall comfort. There will be some bleeding and bruising and swelling with filler. The swelling will gradually resolve over a few days, bruising can take 10-14 days to completely resolve, bleeding will be controlled before you leave my chair 😉.
Neurotoxins (aka Tox):
There are 4 brands of Neurotoxins available, Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, and Jeuveau. All neurotoxins that work by blocking the nerve impulse that controls muscle movement, thereby temporarily restricting the ability to contract the facial muscles. When those nerve signals are interrupted, the affected muscle is temporarily paralyzed or frozen. Without movement of these selected muscles in the face, certain wrinkles may be softened, reduced, or even removed. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally. Neurotoxins are injected to help smooth the appearance of wrinkles and are generally used to treat the upper face in areas such as frown lines, forehead, and crow’s feet. The results from neurotoxin injections last between 2-4 months and then need to be repeated.
What can you expect?? When you book your appointment you will receive pre-procedure instructions, please follow it for best results. I like to compare the injections of “tox” to plucking your eyebrows. Minimal pain, bruising and swelling; swelling and redness will resolve with in 20 minutes, bleeding will be controlled before you leave my chair. You may experience some tightening sensation or even a dull headache the few hours after treatment that will resolve.
*full effect of tox and fillers can take 2 full weeks
*for at least the first 72 hours after procedure: avoid facials, massage, chiropractic work, hats, headbands and bedroom favors 😉 and try to sleep on your back.
*recommend to work out before your treatments, stay up right for 4 hours post treatment, avoid hot yoga and extensive workout for at least 24 hours post treatments
**We use Tox to “optimize,” but never to “treat” chronic conditions as we are not a medical clinic. However what people can benefit from use of tox, is a reduced gummy smile (less gum show), 11’s, frown lines, crows feet, reduced masseter muscle size, chin dimpling, platysmal band relaxation, crepey skin, smokers lines and improve upper lip fullness
